Philips Introduces New Wireless Speakers: S5X, S3X, BR-1X, SHOQBOX XL And DOT
Philips introduces today at the 2013 IFA Show a new range of wireless speakers, designed to marry style and high-power sound in one compact package, whether at home or on-the-go.
“Today’s consumers aspire to a new generation of stereo on which to enjoy their music at home,” said Edouard Petit, director consumer marketing, audio at Philips Lifestyle Entertainment. “We live in an ever-connected world with music and content stored on smartphones, tablets and laptops. Home stereos have to change accordingly. Philips’ new wireless studio speakers provide powerful, crystal clear sound from almost all devices, from smartphones and laptops to televisions and gaming consoles. Their modern, clutter-free design is equally as striking as their sound, making them the perfect addition to an office, bedroom or a studio.”

S5X and S3X
The S5X and S3X offer consumers complete flexibility with four different connection options including: High-fidelity (APT-X and AAC) wireless Bluetooth streaming, Digital (coaxial and optical) inputs, and stereo aux-in, allowing them to play music from smartphones, hear the latest blockbuster from a television or laptop and feel the action of a gaming console. Strategically top mounted 15mm silk dome tweeter ensures crystal clear, high-fidelity sound so consumers hear all the detail in every song or TV show. Tactical volume and source controls on the side make for easy adjustments and switching between sources. Treble and bass controls are easily accessible on the back so consumers can customize their sound, and a USB plug offers easy-charging of your smartphone or tablet. A remote control gives the added ease of being able to control the speakers from the comfort of a sofa.
The S5X features 100W RMS of power and a 5.25”woofer for high power sound to fill the room. The pair of studio speakers will be available in all black design and a fashionable white design with a black finish. It will be available in October with a recommended retail price of EUR 249.
The S3X offers 30W RMS of power and a 4” woofer perfect for the office or bedroom. It is available in a fashion forward charcoal grey design with yellow accent grills. It will be available in October with a recommended retail price of EUR 199.
The BR-1X speakers offer powerful sound, with two inch drivers the speakers delivers immense sound when you need it.

SHOQBOX XL
The SHOQBOX XL will give phenomenally big sound that will blow you away. The speaker boasts two, three inch full range woofers and NFC Bluetooth pairing for one-touch connections. Chunky and tough it can pump out massive, high quality sound that fills the area with music. It also comes with a convenient carrying strap so you can carry it from party to party. The SHOQBOX XL also offers the indoor and outdoor modes. It will be available in November with a recommended retail price of EUR 199.
DOT
It might be small, but you will be amazed by the quality of sound from the DOT, a small speaker that fits in your hand. Featuring a splash proof and ruggedized frame, you can keep the DOT wherever your adventure takes you, whatever the weather. With its unique auto sensor, you can turn it off, by simply turning it upside down. The DOT is available in September with a recommended retail price of EUR 79.
