The receiver’s Virtual Presence Speaker option also delivers sonic dimension and height to front channel audio to systems without front presence speakers. The RX-V667 is designed to enable music and movie enthusiasts to fully enjoy their Blu-ray players, broadcast HD services and gaming consoles, as well as the latest 3D television offerings. Ease-of-use features include a super-fast and intuitive multi-lingual onscreen GUI that can overlay HD and 3D content to attractively display information and album art. Four pre-set SCENE modes (“BD/DVD,” “TV,” “CD” and “Radio”), fully compatible with Yamaha’s new BD-S667, instantly ready the entire system to deliver the desired entertainment experience by turning on the correct components and activating the proper inputs, audio and video features and surround mode combinations.
The RX-V667 gives users access to the broadest range of today’s popular content sources, including wireless iPod/iPhone playback via Yamaha’s new optional YID-W10 Wireless Dock System. The dock enables users to listen to these portable devices through a high quality Yamaha home theater system while keeping them in their hands to quickly find their favorite songs, videos and games. The YID-W10 integrates Yamaha’s proprietary yAired wireless technology that enables users to watch video or play games with high quality lossless audio via iPhones without distracting lip sync or A/V matching problems.
HD components and devices, such as camcorders, can be easily connected to the home entertainment system via the model’s front panel HDMI input. Users can easily change between any of the six HDMI inputs in the receiver’s Standby Through mode.
Highest quality sound and performance out of 3D broadcast and Blu-ray content, the RX-V667 provides 3D and Audio Return Channel support over HDMI 1.4a (6 ins/ 1 out), and versatility for 7 channel HD Audio or 5 channel plus height presence speaker playback via the company’s proprietary CINEMA DSP 3D technology.

YPAO automatic system calibration instantly and makes system adjustments to best match the room in which the system is placed. HDMI CEC functionality allows any components connected via HDMI to be operated by a single remote control.

The model also offers Deep Color (30/36 bit) technology, x.v.Color, 24Hz Refresh Rates, audio input assign capability for HDMI and component video inputs and Auto Lip-Sync compensation, which automatically eliminates audio/video sync issues.
