New iPod Docking Systems From Sharp Offer High-Fidelity Sound And Convenience In Small Packages
Sharp today introduces three new iPod® docking systems that allow users to play music directly from any iPod or iPhone while simultaneously recharging the unit. For music on-the-go, the DK-AP7N portable audio system for iPod features a stylish body that can be folded for travel or storage, with premium sound quality and long battery life. This compact design is available in two eye-catching color combinations, including a glossy black body with either white or red accents. The DK-CL6N (for the home) and DK-CL66N (for the hospitality industry) music systems for iPod tout the functionality of a clock radio with the luxury of waking to favorite iPod tunes. Perfect for the nightstand, these models feature a small footprint with a midnight black finish to blend into any decor.

Sharp DK-AP7N
“We have created three new systems for the iPod that carry Sharp’s expertise in high-quality audio systems to all areas of life,” said Bob Pleyer, senior product marketing manager, audio, Entertainment Products Division, Sharp. ”Whether at home or traveling, Sharp has the audio system that allows consumers to enjoy great-sounding music from one of these elegant new designs.”
DK-AP7N
This small, yet powerful, 2.1 channel audio system features an ultra-portable design that folds closed for safe keeping when on the go. The single system houses all the necessary components for an enjoyable listening experience, including the main drivers and subwoofer. With five hours of battery operation and an AC adapter and soft carry bag included, the DK-AP7N is truly a portable solution to enjoying high-quality audio from any location.
The iPod terminal allows the user to charge and play music directly from any iPod through the unit’s full range bass reflex speakers with HDSS (high-definition sound standard) sound technology. For optimum sound quality, the unit offers ESound, a digital signal processing technology that improves the quality of compressed digital music. By enhancing the sound frequency and increasing the sound pressure, ESound mode corrects deterioration to the sound quality that plagues most compressed music. The DK-AP7N also includes a video output so that when connected to a TV, users can enjoy their favorite iPod videos on a larger screen. Additionally, the user has an option to connect their laptop or portable MP3 player via Auxiliary-in terminal to enjoy better sound quality.

DK-CL6N / DK-CL66N
With these new clock radio music systems, users can wake up to their favorite playlists, direct from any iPod. The DK-CL6N and DK-CL66N charge and play music from the docked iPod with high-quality sound through the system’s 4 watt, 2.0 channel audio speaker system. The alarm clock function includes a sleep timer with snooze and dual alarms for ultimate convenience. An AM/FM tuner allows users to program up to 10 favorite radio stations. Both models also feature an electronic equalizer that customizes sound based on the music genre and has a five-step mode to accurately adjust the sound for any type of music.
While the DK-CL6N is designed for the home or dorm room, the DK-CL66N is a product designed specifically for the hospitality industry with an anti-bacterial coating to help keep hotel guests germ free. Both models feature a similar compact design with a blue illuminated clock display. The units also support MP3 music players as well as stream video files from iPod video via the video out jack to the television.
All three models introduced feature low power consumption and comply with ENERGY STAR® standards.
