Sharp Introduces Five New Sound Bar Systems
Sharp Electronics Corporation introduces five new sound bar systems which offer powerful audio and contemporary styling for home theaters in apartments, dens and bedrooms, or any room with limited space. In fact, the new HT-SL70 and HT-SL50 sound bars are the world’s slimmest and can be conveniently placed in front of large flat screen TVs or wall mounted. Key benefits included within this line, which feature both single speaker and single speaker/subwoofer systems, include flexible placement options, high performance speakers, subwoofers and digital amplifiers, as well as 3D Video format compatibility via HDMI® 1.4 with Audio Return Channel, as well as Dolby®, DTS® and SRS® decoding. Each model is designed to offer a sleek aesthetic complement to flat screen TVs.

Sharp HT-SL70
“As the sound bar category has come into its own, Sharp is offering a wider array of products to equip home theater systems at several levels of sophistication,” said Sean McBride, product marketing manager, audio, Entertainment Products Division, Sharp Electronics Corporation. ”Whether the consumer seeks a high-powered audio system for their main viewing area or in the kids’ room or kitchen, our 5 new models enhance the viewing experience and provide exceptional performance, flexibility and value.”
The super slim HT-SL70 and HT-SL50 2.1 channel sound bars with active subwoofers provide 200 and 100 Watts of RMS power, respectively, to any home theater viewing area. The HT-SL70 offers both horizontal and vertical set-ups. This flexibility is made possible by the 2-piece sound bar that can be connected into 1 piece for placement below the TV screen, or separated into 2 pieces to be stood vertically on either side of the TV. Easy operation features include auto power on/off function and volume control via a TV’s remote control. The HT-SL70 and HT-SL50 easily connect via a TV’s headphone, RCA or HDMI (ARC) terminals. A 3.5mm audio input allows additional audio sources, such as MP3 players, to be connected for audio playback as well. The HT-SL70 is designed to complement flat panel TVs of 46-inch and 52-inch screen class sizes. The HT-SL50 is suited for flat panel TVs of 32-inch screen class size.
The 3.1 HT-SB600 sound bar audio system has built-in Dolby and DTS decoders and 3D video support via HDMI 1.4 with Audio Return Channel.
